Bird Watching

March 13, 2010

One of the great benefits of country living is being able to see more nature and less building walls. Our yard is the happy habitat not only for our chickens, but many other birds, and occasionally deer, squirrels, and bunnies.

Since we’re in the Cardinal State of North Carolina, it’s only natural to spot the bright male Cardinal.

And his sweet mate.

I also saw this cute rounded friend.

And even a Woodpecker. I first heard and spotted him, but didn’t have enough time to get a good shot before he scampered up the tree.

But then I noticed him in a different photo with his noticeable tête.

And certainly not to miss, mes belles poules. This is Madame Poule.

And then “the twins.” This is Madeleine.

And finally, Bella.
